Oat Flour

A whole-grain flour made from rolled oats. Oat flour is rich in B vitamins, chromium, copper, fibre, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum and phosphorous.

Almond Flour

Almond flour is grain and gluten-free and high in plant-based proteins. It’s rich in healthy fats, calcium, fibre, iron and vitamin E as well. Yes it’s higher in calories than some flours, but it’s not something you use a huge amount of when baking treats for dogs. So it’s not something to be overly concerned about unless your dog has a real weight issue.

Peanut Butter Powder

Peanut butter is an absolute dog food pantry essential. It’s full of goodness, dogs love it, and it’s great for high-reward dog treats. What’s not to like? Just ensure that any peanut butter you buy for your dog DOES NOT contain xylitol which is poisonous to dogs!

Dehydrated Turkey

Turkey is an excellent source of lean protein for your dog. It’s high in selenium and a good source of vitamins and minerals including phosphorus, zinc, iron, potassium, copper and magnesium.

Cranberries

Cranberries are a rich source of vitamin C and a good source of manganese together with vitamins E, K and B6. They also contain iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc and fibre.

About this mix

These Christmas dog treats are made only from 100% natural, human-grade, dog-safe ingredients. They contain no artificial colours, flavourings, preservatives, added sugar or salt.

One final thing. As tasty as your dog may find these homemade dog treats, treats should make up no more than around 10% of your dog’s daily calorie intake. Please make allowance for this and reduce the size of your dog’s meals in order to minimise the risk of unhealthy weight gain.
