1 Sweet Potato (Large, washed, dried)
Preheat oven to 250˚F. Place parchment paper over the whole of a baking sheet. Slice off one side of the sweet potato carefully. Roll the sweet potato onto the cut surface to create a stable base for easier cutting. Slice remaining potato into even slices of about 14; inch to 1/3 inch in width. Place all slices of potato on the baking sheet with a little room in between. Bake for 1.5 hours. Flip sweet potato slices and bake a remaining 1.5 hours or until desired doneness. Use a wire rack to cool the treats overnight.
Store these sweet potato dog chews in an airtight container after you have made them. By keeping moisture away from them, they will last longer without getting mushy or losing their chew. Do not try to keep them too long or they may spoil. Most dogs will chew these up pretty quickly, so the only thing being spoiled is your dog.
