Our organic peanut butter dog treats couldn’t be easier to make. Your dog will love these delicious treats and what’s more is, they will stay fresh for up to 3 weeks in an airtight container. These treats also make great gifts if you are going to a friend’s house for dinner and they have a dog. Tried and tested by resident black Labrador, Theodore, he’s given these peanut butter treats the lick of approval!

Ingredients:

120g plain wholemeal flour

130g organic smooth peanut butter (no added sugar)

125ml hot water

1½ teaspoons baking powder

Method:

Preheat oven to 180°C

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, pour the hot water over the peanut butter and mix until smooth.

Gradually sprinkle in the flour and baking powder. Continue to mix until all ingredients are combined, add more water if your mixture is too dry or add more flour if your mixture is too wet. The mixture should be slightly moist but not wet.

Dust your work surface with a little wholemeal flour and turn your mixture out onto it. Use a rolling pin to roll the mixture out until it is about ½cm thick.

Use a cookie cutter to make your desired treat shapes. We used a selection of bones, fire hydrants, kennels and paw print.

Place treats on a non-stick baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until the treats are lightly browned. Turning the oven off and leaving the treats to cool in the oven will give you a crispy treat. Taking your treats out after cooking time will give you a softer treat.
