National rescue dog day was the 20th May this year so many people and celebrities alike were posting the most adorable pictures of their rescued pooches. So, enjoy this compilation of arguably the most famous rescue dogs out there!

Dodger – Chris Evans

Dodger

Whilst filming a movie in 2017 Chris had a scene in a dog pound which led to him adopting Dodger. In an interview with People he said, “I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, he’s got the energy of a puppy, he’s just such a sweetheart, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.”

Squiddly and Diddly – Simon Cowell

As I’m sure you all know, especially if you watch the X factor, Simon is known for being an animal lover! He adopted his two terriers Squiddly and Diddly in 2013.

Finn – Amanda Seyfried

Finn

The relationship between Amanda and Finn is to die for! They are a match made in heaven. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres Amanda said, “He cuddles me, and he listens to me, and he loves me.” I mean what more could you want from a dog!

Lord Chesterfield – Jennifer Aniston

Lord Chesterfield

Jennifer announced in October last year that she had just adopted the newest member of her family, Lord chesterfield! She wrote “Hi! I’d like to introduce to you the newest member of our family….this is (a very tired) Lord Chesterfield. He stole my heart immediately. A HUGE thank you to @wagmorpets for the incredible work you do. Grateful you take such great care of these rescues and find them their forever homes.”

Ian Somerhalders dogs

Ian Somerhalders dogs and wife

Ian has always loved animals from growing up in Louisiana and seeing so many different animals in his own community. Due to his love of animals he created the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to bring awareness to environmental issues and animal cruelty. Ian and Nikki (Ians wife) have several rescued dogs, cats, and a horse.

I hope this post has put a smile on your face and has proved that rescue dogs are just as good if not better than puppies from breeders! Both of my own pooches are rescues and they are simply perfect!
