Everyone in the canine industry is talking about the new show Top Dog Model (#topdogmodel) which started this week on ITV2, narrated by David Walliams (@davidwalliams).
The search is on to find Britain’s most gorgeous pooch who will win an advertising campaign for a well-know international brand. It’s not all about looking good though, the dogs also have to perform tricks and demonstrate good behaviour which will be tested through a series of dog-eat-dog modeling assignments including photo and video shoots and a number of other challenges.
The show unites the glamorous world of modeling with Britain’s true love of dogs. Each dog will perform in front of a panel of famous judges, Stacey Solomon (@5taceySolomon), fashion model Lilah Parsons, Hollywood dog agent Addison Witt and guest judge Ashleigh and Pudsey (@OfficialPudsey) the winners of Britain’s Got Talent. The judges will be looking for personality and star quality as well as good looks in the performances.
Episode One which aired on Wednesday 5th September saw dogs of all different sizes, shapes, breeds and colours from all over the country meet the judges one by one for their chance to strut their stuff and hope the judges fall head-over-paws for them and put them through to the exclusive Paw Camp!
From piano-playing dogs to sailor costumes we see it all on the show but our absolute favourite audition was Simba the Leonberger (@Simba_The_Leo) who is given a piggy back by his owner. Just look at this handsome hound…
Thank you Simba for sending us this gorgeous picture!
We think he has star quality and we wish him all the best for Paw Camp! Each week the judges will eliminate the weakest performers so let’s hope Simba has something hidden up his sleeve to wow the judges at Paw Camp.
Top Dog Model seeks to find a true doggie star – the new Cindy Pawford, Claudia Sniffer, Naomi Spaniel or Elle Macfurson perhaps…
Make sure you tune in next Wednesday at 8pm on ITV2 for the next stage of auditions!
