Flip Training

Written by Alessia

There are several different ways to do flip training with your dog, but the most common form of flip training is with a frisbee or flying disc. Each dog has a different “flipping” point, so this training will take a while depending on your dog. Some dogs like the disc up high or low to begin with, some dogs, like the one in the video, just need the disc to fly over their head for them to perform a flip. The disc technique helps the dog to follow with their head, causing the flip motion. There are a few different types of flips, and this flip training video above goes into detail using two different dogs.

Would you consider flip training with your dog, or do you think it’s dangerous or unnecessary? I’m not sure how I feel about it, I think it’s cool but do not envision Lucas ever doing it.
