Teach Your Dog to Walk on a Loose Leash

I found another awesome training video for another issue my dad and I both have with Lucas. He pulls the leash when we walk him like his life depends on moving as fast as possible to go do his business and sniff every single blade of grass on our block. To teach your dog to walk on a loose leash is a bit challenging because dogs are so easily distracted, and there are so many scents and exciting things outside, but this video has some awesome tips for controlling your pooch on a walk. To teach your dog to walk on a loose leash, you have to stop fully every time the leash goes taut, wait for the dog to turn and face you with a loose leash, and then reward him. The trainer in the video has some good tips and tricks to make this possible, and the dog in the video who was pulling in the beginning does an awesome job of following directions with the rewards there to help. If you use this technique to teach your dog to walk on a loose leash, let us know in the comments how it goes!
